Cruise Phase Day 39

I am the same weight today – 102.2 – and ate much the same food as I have been eating so nothing exciting to report.  Although there is very little Christmas atmosphere here, we are having a Pre-Christmas Lunch on Sunday and that will be my Christmas Day off the diet.  I won´t be having Chocolate or other goodies, but I will be having Tiramisu for dessert!

Cruise Phase Day 22

Day 22 of the Cruise Phase stats:

  • Weight Today 104.4 kgs
  • Weight Lost 0.0 kgs
  • Total Weight Lost 5.2 kgs

What I ate yesterday:

  • Breakfast – Lemon Muffins
  • Snack – None
  • Lunch – Cooked Ham, Vanilla Quark
  • Snack – None
  • Dinner – Jerk Chicken, Hard Boiled Egg, Vanilla Quark
  • Drinks – 1.5 ltrs water, 2 cups of tea, 1 cup of coffee
  • Exercise – None

Had a bit of a lazy day yesterday apart from a short trip out to meet up with my sister on her way to the airport.

The Vanilla Quark is absolutely delicious – but at 15 g of Carbs per 100 g is too high to have on a regurlar basis.  When the Vanilla and the Blueberry Quark are finished I won´t be buying it again until I am in Consolidation.  But it hasn´t done me too much harm this week.

Cruise Phase Day 21

Day 21 of the Cruise Phase stats:

  • Weight Today 104.4 kgs
  • Weight Lost 0.3 kgs
  • Total Weight Lost 5.2 kgs

What I ate yesterday:

  • Breakfast – Dukan Galette with blueberry Quark
  • Snack – 2 sugar free sweets
  • Lunch – 3 slices cooked ham, 30g Vanilla Quark
  • Snack – Cooked Turkey Slices
  • Dinner – Grilled Salmon Fillet, 0% fat yoghurt
  • Drinks – 2 ltrs water, 2 cups of tea, 1 cup of coffee
  • Exercise – None…..again – I feel guilty now!

It was such a miserable day yesterday I thought I would end up breaking my diet – but I didn´t and am surprised as that was just the kine of day that usually has me heading for the kitchen looking for “something nice”.  I made the Lemon Muffins but they didn´t turn out like the picture on the recipe.  They were OK, but got burnt on the top and all the bran floated to the top of the muffins and the bottom was nice and spongey.  The recipe was supposed to make 6 muffins but I got 12 so have 6 muffins a day for 2 days with my bran allowance.

I didn´t try the Cheescake recipe yet, but will probably try it during the week.

I had a good weight loss today and am loving this diet – just hope I don´t get too tempted by all the Christmas goodies that are in the shops now.

It´s pouring down today so it´s a good day to try out some baking I think.  I am planning to make Lemon Muffins and maybe some Cheesecake …….yum!  If they turn out OK I will post the recipes.

Cruise Phase Day 16

Day 16 of the Cruise Phase stats:

  • Exercise – Walked for ages in the Shopping Center

Good day yesterday –  meeting up with my sister who is here on holiday and doing some shopping in La Cañada – huge but pricey shopping center in Marbella.  I wanted to get some Fat Free Quark as I had heard it was good to make cheesecake out of.  When I spotted Blueberry Quark and Vanilla Quark (both 0.2% Fat) I got so excited I forgot to check the carbs – and didn´t check them until I had eaten a few spoons of the blueberry one – OMG!!  It was so good, but so bad…….lol.

So today I am feeling a bit bloated as I didn´t eat very well yesterday and am paying for it today.  But I have to admit I used the Blueberry Quark to make my Dukan Galette this morning and it was delicious!

Cruise Phase Day 15

Day 15 of the Cruise Phase stats:

  • Weight Today 105.6 kgs
  • Weight Lost 0.3 kgs
  • Total Weight Lost 3.7 kgs

  • Drinks – 1.5 ltrs water, 2 cups of tea, 1 cup of coffee
  • Exercise – None (again!) but did some heavy housework – well, heavy for me

Did some housework until my back could take no more so that was enough exercise for me!

I´ve been looking for more recipes and have found a few to try out.  Will post any here that turn out OK.  I want to try some muffin recipes so I can have something different for breakfast.  I find that everytime I look for recipes I spend more time looking for sweet things than I do on proper food…….

Cruise Phase Day 13

Day 13 of the Cruise Phase stats:

  • Weight Today 105.1 kgs
  • Weight Lost 0.0 kgs
  • Total Weight Lost 4.5 kgs

What I ate yesterday:

  • Breakfast – Dukan Galette
  • Snack – Half a Grapefruit (not Dukan Friendly but I grew it myself!)
  • Lunch – 4 Crab Sticks, Cooked Turkey Slices
  • Snack – 0% fat Yoghurt
  • Dinner – Tandoori Chicken, Coffee Creme & Meringue
  • Drinks – 2 ltrs water, 2 coups of tea, 1 cup of coffee
  • Exercise – No proper exercise but went shopping.

Well I stayed the same as yesterday so I am quite happy with that – but as you can see from my menu I didn´t have any veggies.  I just didn´t feel like having any so today is going to be my PV Day.  That´s what I like about the Dukan Diet, in one way you have to stick to the rules in order to lose weight, but those rules can be bent a little bit if necessary – as long as you don´t go totally off diet you will lose weight.

No exercise again!  I will have to make more of an effort next week.  I will be facing temptation today as my Sister arrives today for a weeks holiday and we will be meeting up later for coffee – will have to stock up on willpower before hitting La Cañada shopping center.  Although it´s much easier to diet here in Spain as there isn´t much choice in chocolate and the cakes look delicious but taste horrible!  This time of the year is worse as the shops stock up on chocolate and sweets for Christmas – the Spanish traditionally have Turron at Christmas and Suchard do a huge bar of Chocolate Turron with Rice Crispies in which I am madly trying to not see in the supermarket!

Dukan friendly Custard.

Well I made the Custard from the recipe in the Dukan Diet Book and it turned out lovely!  I tweaked it a bit as hubby (who is a wonderful cook and does most of the food) assured me I wouldn´t like the original recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 5 Eggs
  • 375 mls Skimmed Milk
  • 1 Vanilla Pod
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 5 tsp Sweetener

Preheat oven to 150º/300º Gas Mark 2.

Beat the eggs in a large bowl.  Split the Vanilla Pod and scrape out the inside.  Add the sweetener and the vanilla pod (inside scraping and bean)  to the milk.  Heat the milk but don´t let it boil.  When the milk is warmed add it slowly to the beaten eggs stirring the mixture all the time.

Put the mixture in one large or 6 small baking dishes and put in a Bain Marie.  Add enough boiling water to reach 3/4 way up the baking dish.  Cook for 35 – 40 minutes.  Let cool for 2 hours in the Bain Marie.

Enjoy!
