Cruise Phase Day 5

Day 5 of the Cruise Phase stats:

  • Weight Today 106.6 kgs
  • Weight Lost 0.0 kgs
  • Total Weight Lost 3 kgs

What I ate yesterday:

  • Breakfast – Oat Bran Porrdige
  • Snack – 0% Natural Yoghurt
  • Lunch – Ham Omelette, Dukan Custard (last one, will have to make more)
  • Snack – 3 crab sitcks
  • Dinner – Grilled Chicken Breast, 0% flavoured yoghurt
  • Drinks – 2 ltrs water, 3 cups of tea, 1 coffee
  • Exercise – No proper exercise but I swept up all the leaves and fallen pommegranets from the front of the house

Still the same weight 3 days in a row – but at least it hasn´t gone up which it was doing when I was on Atkins.

After sweeping up the leaves outside (took about 30 minutes) my back was complaining about the new movement! So no Cross Trainer after that.

I´m doing another PP day today so I will have more choice of what I can eat at the BBQ tomorrow. Hope I don´t get tempted by too many nice things.

Cruise Phase Day 4

Day 4 of the Cruise Phase stats:

What I ate yesterday:

  • Breakfast – Oatbran Porridge
  • Snack – none
  • Lunch – Mushroom Omelette, Dukan Custard
  • Snack – none
  • Dinner – Pollock, Prawns and Asparagus, 0%fat yoghurt
  • Drinks – 2 ltrs water, 3 cups of tea
  • Exercise – 20 mins Cross Trainer

I´m trying to build up to 30 minutes on the Cross Trainer but am stuck at 20 mins – it´s really strange feeling the muscles in my back when I start off so they must be getting stronger.  It will be great when I can´t feel them any more!

I was down in the campo yesterday (our name for our bit of land with orange and lemon trees and a vegetable plot) and really missed being able to do some weeding or trimming!  Must be feeling better!!  We are going to build some raised beds so I can get back to growing some veggies next year.  My little vegetable patch is very badly neglected…..

We have been invited to another BBQ on Saturday by a South African friend and I know he always has some tempting treats.  His mother makes corn fritters which I love but won´t be having this time (if I can resist).  So just in case I am going to do another PP day tomorrow to be prepared!

Chicken Pockets with Garlic and Cheese

  • 2 Chicken Breasts
  • 4 tbsps 0% fat Cream Cheese
  • Garlic Powder to taste
  • Salt to taste

Pre-heat oven to 180º/350º/Gas Mark 4-moderate

Slice the chicken breasts along the middle creating a “pocket”, being careful not to cut all the way through. Sprinkle some salt and garlic powder inside the pockets you just created. Spread some tin foil in a roasting tray – enough to wrap the meat and put the chicken breasts in. Put 1-2 table spoons of cream cheese inside each “pocket” and add some more garlic powder on top. Seal up the meat with your fingers and finally sprinkle some parsley over it. Cover everything with the foil so that it is all closed up.

Cook for 30 minutes at 180C.

Open the foil, put the oven on grill and cook for a further 10-15 minutes.

Day 2 of the Cruise Phase stats:

  • Weight Today 106.7 kgs
  • Weight Lost 0.0kgs
  • Total Weight Lost 2.9 kgs

What I ate yesterday:

  • Breakfast – Oat Bran Porridge
  • Snack -none
  • Lunch – Grilled Panga with tomato and cucumber, Dukan Custard
  • Snack – 0% fat Natural Yoghurt, 2 slices turkey
  • Dinner – Stewed Beef with asparagus, 0% fat flavoured yoghurt.
  • Drinks – 2 ltrs water, 1 cup of tea, 1 cup of coffee
  • Exercise -20mins Cross Trainer

Although I thought I didn´t miss vegetables for the 7 days I was on the Attack Phase I must have as I really enjoyed the tomato and cucumber with my lunch!

My weight is the same so that´s not too bad as I was expecting it to go up a bit as Dr Dukan says this can happen in the book.  Today is an all Protein day.

This is a very straightforward diet – there are no doubts about what you can or cannot eat and I find that much easier to stick to than counting out fat and carbs and trying to stay within certain limits.
