  • Exercise – Walking the puppy and keeping the peace between her and the cats!

It was a lovely day yesterday after about a week of rain so I had a chance to take Fudge out for a walk.  She is a bit nervous of the cars on the road so I had to carry her for a bit as she just wanted to run home!  But we finally got down to the riverside and had a nice walk.

We also had a ramble round out “campo” later in the day and she loved that.  This is all having a positive effect on my weight!  I can´t beleive how fast it has come off this week.  I have been on the Dukan Diet for 9 weeks and have lost 9.2 kilos – a great result, but could have been even better if Christmas hadn´t been in there!

Luc Lac Beef

Ingredients:

  • 400 grams (14 oz) Beef
  • 2 tbsps Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Oyster Sauce
  • 1 Large Piece Ginger, crushed
  • 4 Garlic Cloves, crushed
  • A few Corriander Leaves to garnish
  • Black Pepper

Cut the meat into 1cm (1/2 inch) cubes and season with the soy sauce, oyster sauce, crushed ginger and pepper.  Leave to marinate for at least 30 minutes.  Just before you are ready to servegrease a frying pan with a drop of vegetable oil andgently fry the garlic.  Once the garlic has started to brown add the meat and cook over a very high heat.  Mix together rapidly for 10 – 15 seconds.  The meat should still be a little rare so do not overcook.  Garnish with the corriander leaves.

Cruise Phase Day 14

Day 14 of the Cruise Phase stats:

  • Weight Today 105.9 kgs
  • Weight Gain 0.8 kgs
  • Total Weight Lost 3.7 kgs

What I ate yesterday:

  • Breakfast – Dukan Galette
  • Snack – 1 Sugar Free Sweet
  • Lunch – Turkey Slices Grilled
  • Snack – Cooked Turkey slices, 0% fat yoghurt
  • Dinner – Tuna Steak, asparagus, 0% fat yoghurt
  • Drinks – 1.5 ltrs water, 2 cups of tea, 1 cup of coffee
  • Exercise – None

My back was really sore yesterday so I took some anti-inflammitories and I am paying the price for them today – they instantly make me retain water – even the asparagus didn´t work it´s usual magic.  I didn´t even have to get up to go to the loo during the night, which is very unusual for me.

But on the plus side my back feels much better today so I am trying a more natural remedy and taking Bromelain (Pineapple) tablets instead.

Cruise Phase Day 12

Day 12 of the Cruise Phase stats:

  • Weight Today 105.1 kgs
  • Weight Lost 0.7 kgs
  • Total Weight Lost 4.5 kgs

What I ate yesterday:

  • Breakfast – Dukan Galette with added Wheat Bran
  • Snack – none
  • Lunch – Egg Wrap with 0% fat Fresh Cheese and Cooken Turkey Slices
  • Snack – Cooked Turkey Slices, 0% fat yoghurt
  • Dinner – Tandoori Chicken, Coffee Creme & Meringue
  • Drinks – 2 ltrs water, 2 cups of tea, 1 cup of coffee
  • Exercise – None really – but I did pick some oranges

Look at that weight loss!  I am not really expecting that all to stay off as today is a PV day but it looked damn good on the scales this morning!  That´s the good thing about the Dukan Diet, you get these spectacular drops every now and again and that keeps the motivation up.

My back was really playing up again yesterday so no exercise again.

I´ll post the recipe for the Coffee Creme today as it turned out quite nice – you can also make it with Chocolate or Vanilla.  It´s from the Dukan Diet Book.   I made the meringue out of the leftover egg whites, but it didn´t turn out as I expected – it was full of air and not very meringue-y at all!

Although I thought I didn´t miss vegetables for the 7 days I was on the Attack Phase I must have as I really enjoyed the tomato and cucumber with my lunch!

My weight is the same so that´s not too bad as I was expecting it to go up a bit as Dr Dukan says this can happen in the book.  Today is an all Protein day.

This is a very straightforward diet – there are no doubts about what you can or cannot eat and I find that much easier to stick to than counting out fat and carbs and trying to stay within certain limits.

Got my Dukan Diet Book Today!

I got my Dukan Diet book today and just had a quick skim through it.  I was a bit worried about the Smoked Salmon I was eating, but it is allowed in the Attack Phase…….

There are some great recipes in it which I will be trying out – even though I hate cooking!  There are even recipes for custard and a coffee creme dessert.  I´ll definitely be having them.

This is going to be a long term commitment to get to my target weight (although I´m not sure what that is at the moment – I will see when I get under 80kgs).  But from what I have read in the book already it seems to be very do-able.  Just need to get my determined head on.
