Update on My Dukan Diet Journey

I though I had lost all these posts when I lost the domain they were on, but I found the database they were in so……yay!!

My weight at the moment is 88.2 kgs – I have been as low as 85.2 but have been having trouble with Gallstones since April.  I am due to have them taken out soon but in the meantime I haven´t been able to stick to the Dukan Diet.  I can´t wait to get back on it again though and finally lose the last bit of weight.

I am still getting a lot of compliments on my weight loss and feel much better in myself (apart from the dreaded Gallstones).

Before and Half Way

I am on a roll with the weight loss again! Weight today is 94.1 so in the last week I went under 95 kilos (and under 15 stone). I am really happy I found The Dukan Diet. Here is a Before and Half-way through picture as I still have a bit of weight to lose.

The before picture was taken in May 2010 and the After was takin in Feb this year. I started dieting in July 2010, did 1 week on “Ice Cream & Fruit Juice Diet” and lost 2 kgs, 4 weeks on Calorie Controlled and lost 3 kgs, 8 weeks on Atkins but hit a major stall before I discovered The Dukan Diet. Been doing the Dukan since 1st November 2010 and I can´t believe how well I have stuck to it considering Christmas and New Year came and went. This has to be the best diet I have every done in my lifetime of dieting.

The only problem I have now is my clothes – most of them are falling off me, but I do have a few items I bought that didn´t fit at the time. As the summer will be here in a matter of weeks I am holding off on any shopping until I can buy some a summer wardrobe – although my usual summer “uniform” is a swimsuit and sarong when I am at home.

So if you are thinking about doing the Dukan, don´t wait any longer – get stuck in now and get rid of that weight!

February Update…

I know I said in my last post that I would go back to doing the updates but obviously that didn´t happen.

I am still on the Dukan Diet and sticking to it well.  I haven´t fallen off the wagon since the new year.  I have been massively tempted at times but as there is hardly any goodies left in the house it is easy to resist.  I have also discovered Dukan friendly chocolate pancakes which help me over any bad patches.

At times I have been bored with the limits of the diet, and at other times I have felt really hungry – but these seem to happen mostly on very cold days so I´m hoping things will get easier as the weather picks up.  I know – you´re saying “but you live in Spain – how cold can it be” but there is snow on the mountains just up the road, which we can see from our house.

My weight now is 96.8 kilos – still going in the right direction!  It´s been a bit slower weight loss for the past couple of weeks but that is more to do with the weather than the diet!

Catch-up and re-focus!

I just realised that it has been well over a week since I have posted here in my diary. I have been caught up in a big project and haven’t had much time for personal stuff.

Anyway, this morning my weight was 101.1 kilos which is a little bit up on my last report. I haven’t been cheating or anything, but I have been eating more pork than I should be. To be precise, pork burgers made with mushrooms and truffles! Birger’s new masterpiece recipe which is a taste explosion!

Fudge, the puppy, is getting big enough to bring for longer walks but she is afraid of the traffic on the road so I have to get her used to that.

So from tomorrow I will try to get back to the daily reports.

Cruise Phase Day 59

Day 59 of the Cruise Phase stats:

  • Weight Today 99.4 kgs
  • Weight Lost 0.7 kgs
  • Total Weight Lost 10.2 kgs on Dukan Diet
  • Total Weight Lost 20.8 kgs since July 4 2010

What I ate yesterday:

  • Breakfast – Dukan Galette
  • Snack – 2 sugarfree sweets
  • Lunch – Cooked Turkey slices, 0% fat yoghurt
  • Snack – Grilled Tuna Steaks
  • Dinner – Chicken Breast marinated in Soya Sauce, Lime Juice and Minced Garlic, 0% fat yoghurt
  • Drinks – 1 glass water, 3 cups of tea, 1 cup of coffee
  • Exercise – Doggy Walking

I can´t beleive I have lost another 700 grams today – I was fully expecting to stay the same weight for a few days, and I ate loads yesterday.

I love the Dukan Diet!!

Cruise Phase Day 59

Day 59 of the Cruise Phase stats:

  • Weight Today 100.1 kgs
  • Weight Lost 0.3 kgs
  • Total Weight Lost 9.5 kgs

What I ate yesterday:

  • Breakfast – Dukan Galette
  • Snack – 2 sugar free sweets
  • Lunch – Boquerones en vinagre,(Whitebait in Vinager, with tomato and olive oil) Ensalada Mixta, Mixed Salad with tuna (more olive oil!) – had these out in Alozaina. 0% fat yoghurt (at home)
  • Snack – none
  • Dinner – Pork burgers
  • Drinks – half a liter of water, Cafe Sombra (milkey coffee) 3 cups of tea.
  • Exercise – Walking the dog

I can´t believe how much weight I have lost in the last few days!  I hope it keeps up at this rate, but I am not expecting it to.  Even after having lots of Olive Oil on my lunch and a cup of coffee which is mostly milk (full fat) I still lost weight.  But I won´t start thinking I can do that every day!  Lunch in Alozaina is lovely but not something to do regularly.

Cruise Phase Day 57

Day 57 of the Cruise Phase stats:

  • Total Weight Lost 9.2 kgs

What I ate yesterday:

  • Breakfast – Dukan Galette
  • Snack – 2 sugar free sweets
  • Lunch – 3 crab sticks, 1 boiled egg, 3 slices cooked turkey, 0% fat yoghurt
  • Snack – none
  • Dinner – Jerk Chicken, 0% fat yoghurt
  • Drinks – 1 glass water, 3 cups of tea, 1 cup of coffee
  • Exercise – Walking the puppy and keeping the peace between her and the cats!

It was a lovely day yesterday after about a week of rain so I had a chance to take Fudge out for a walk.  She is a bit nervous of the cars on the road so I had to carry her for a bit as she just wanted to run home!  But we finally got down to the riverside and had a nice walk.

We also had a ramble round out “campo” later in the day and she loved that.  This is all having a positive effect on my weight!  I can´t beleive how fast it has come off this week.  I have been on the Dukan Diet for 9 weeks and have lost 9.2 kilos – a great result, but could have been even better if Christmas hadn´t been in there!

Cruise Phase Day 54

  • Weight Lost 0.4 kgs
  • Total Weight Lost 7.7 kgs

What I ate yesterday:

  • Breakfast – Dukan Galette
  • Snack – 2 sugar free sweets, 0% fat yoghurt
  • Lunch – Scrambled Egg and Smoked Salmon, 0% fat yoghurt
  • Snack – none
  • Dinner – Char-grilled Chicken, 0% fat yoghurt, 2 sugar free sweets
  • Drinks – No water…..bad! 3 cups of tea, 1 cup of coffee
  • Exercise – Shopping and puppy walking

I know shopping is not classed as exercise but yesterday I had to go on my own so that was more exercise than I usually get when I am shopping so it counts.

It was raining most of the day so the puppy walking wasn´t so pleasant – she did her business then headed straight in to the house again.  But trying to keep the peace between her and our other dog and two cats is not easy – they don´t understand her enthusiastic approach to everything!  Smokey, the older cat, stands his ground and gives her a few whacks with his paw – but Julia the Stalker, the younger cat, gets freaked out when Fudge starts heading towards her………it´s funny really……..

Cruise Phase Day 53

  • Total Weight Lost 7.3 kgs

What I ate yesterday:

  • Breakfast – Dukan Galette
  • Snack – 2 sugar free sweets
  • Lunch – Egg Wrap with Turkey Slices, 0% fat yoghurt
  • Snack – none
  • Dinner -Grilled Fillet of Salmon, 0% fat yoghurt
  • Drinks -1 large glass water, 3 cups of tea, 1 cup of coffee
  • Exercise -Puppy walkies

Just realized I made a mistake yesterday – I though it was day 53 but it was only day 52.  It must have been the stress of having a blood test at 8 o´clock in the morning!  There were two people taking the blood – one girl who looked half asleep and a man.  The man was flying through his patients and the girl was having a lot of trouble with hers.  I was standing there hoping I would get the man!  I did in the end and he was very good, hardly felt a thing.  But I still have a lovely bruise today.

Cruise Phase Day 53

  • Weight Lost 0.0 kgs
  • Total Weight Lost 6.9 kgs

What I ate yesterday:

  • Breakfast – Dukan Galette
  • Snack – 2 sugar free sweets
  • Lunch – Savoury Pancakes with 0% fat cheese spread
  • Snack – none
  • Dinner – Dukan style Moussaka, 0% yoghurt
  • Drinks – 1 large glass of water, 3 cups of tea, 1 cup of coffee
  • Exercise – chasing Fudge around again!

Today is my 60th day on the Dukan Diet – 7 days of Attack and 53 days of Cruise.  I will be glad when this “Holiday Season” is over and all the yummy food is gone from the house!  Temptation is a terrible thing – although my willpower is surprisingly good considering……

Overall I have lost 20 kilos since 4th July when I started trying to lose weight.  I am confident I will get to my target before the summer 2011 and am looking forward to it immensely!
